Blender Operators (full-time)  -  MIXING Dept.

This position exists to manufacture custom blended spices, seasonings, and cures within set specifications, for wholesale food industry customers.

Chesapeake Spice Company, a leading manufacturer of custom blended spices, seasonings and cures for the further food processing industry, is seeking full-time Blender Operators for its plant located in Belcamp, Maryland.  Employee benefits include medical, dental, group life and LTD insurance, 401(k) plan, paid holidays and vacations.

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy required in reading, following and recording specific blending instructions for each batch to be formulated.  Under general or direct supervision must: accurately follow instructions per  written specification on each assigned production batch card. Must visually inspect all products during process to insure identity, quality and sanitation of products; record and maintain required production records; maintain a clean, safe working environment; and perform other duties/projects as assigned.

MUST BE ABLE TO:  Repetitively lift up, move, and stack boxes/bags/drums weighing up to 100 lbs; work in an environment that has high levels of spice dust, strong odors, exposure to cleaning agents; work in high humidity (at times), and able to work in wet conditions (due to batch changes and/or wash downs); Climb/descend stairs unassisted; bend, stoop, twist to operate, adjust, maneuver around, clean machinery.  Must be able to work overtime and weekends (often on short notice).

MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD.  MUST BE ABLE TO: Work well with and verbally communicate in English with all levels of employees in an effective manner; Read, understand, follow verbal and written instructions given in English; Calculate, perform/record basic math problems; write/record required production records in English.
